There is a technique called Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that works similar to self-hynosis, using a trigger called tapping. See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_Freedom_Technique

I don't know, but I'd like to know too. There's one embarrassing moment....no, several embarrassing moments that I keep reliving in my head and I always get red just thinking about them. Aha, it's kind of silly but still.

Remember not to take yourself seriously and that life can be very, very funny. Sometimes in a twisted or ironic way... but the humor is there!
-
I just kind of sluff it off and tell myself that I'm the only one it bothers. Folks will not remember or dwell on it if I also do not. Just don't take yourself so seriously. (tell yourself that). It works for me because I done lots of embarrassing things in my life believe me.

I usually end up doing something even more embarrassing and forget all about the first one.

Live in the present moment! The past 'exists' only in our memory; the future only in our imaginations The present moment is all we have!
-
I would share the memory or memories(if you're lke me, lol) with someone you love and trust and have a good laugh over it. And always, remember that an embarrassing moment is a fleeting tiny fraction of your life.

I can NOT get over those... i did something embarrassing in like 7th grade and i still get all teary eyed and flushy when i think about it... oh man
-
The only way is to laugh at it and tell people, You have to be able to laugh at yourself... what could be worse than sharting, and having your partner, who you work with bring it up in the managment meeting! I just laugh

Hmm..I've had my share (maybe more than my share) of mebarrassing moments..but I never think about them after the fact. They happened in the past, I dealt with it and moved on. I can't think why you would be replaying that in your mind. It undermines your confidence, and keeps telling you unkind things about yourself. I say let it go..no one cares..you are the only one who spends time on this. Not good! :) ((hugs))

I've not got a cure for you, I wish I had then I could help myself. I get flashbacks virtually every day and there's nothing I can do about them!
-
i wish I had a better answer for you but the best I can do is to tell you to distract yourself from those thoughts when they start. Start thinking of the good things in your life or get up and do something to take your mind off of it. Good luck.

I have done and said a lot of embarrassing things in my lifetime. I recall them sometimes myself and they make me feel stupid. When that happens, I often get very down on myself. During such times, I just try to remember that no one spends more time thinking about me then me. In reality, most people are so wrapped up in themselves they have very little time to think about anyone else. Also, there is no one alive who has not been embarrassed at some time or another. Just remind yourself that you are not alone. Remember that you are a good person and try to think of something more pleasant as quickly as possible. Keep in mind I am not a doctor and am not trying to diagnose you here. However, should such thoughts persist and start to interfere with your life, they may be obsessions. Such a condition is a medical disorder and may need to be treated with medication. Best of luck to you and hold your head up high.
