Does the category "bugs" include things besides insects, e.g., spiders, centipedes, scorpions? What about crawdads, lobsters, crabs, shrimp?

Crawdads, lobsters, crabs and shrimp are "crustaceans". So are clams and oysters. In my part of the ocuntry - southeastern Pennsylvania, on the restaurant menu hey're all referred to as "shellfish". 'True' bugs, Hemiptera, are distinguishable from what we'd normally call bugs in that Hemiptera have sucking mouth parts. Examples are aphids and pondskaters.

Somehow I'm under the inescapable impression that "bug" is not a taxon, a scientific category. Thus I'm skeptical about the classification 'true bugs.' . So then, no one accepts my 'exoskeleton and multiple legs' description?
