In order to read ps2 games u would have to have an emulator which can be added to a modded xbox via FTP. Though many people say u can do this, there is curently no emulator to play ps2 games. Therefore it is impossible, i should know im an expert at modding and been doing this for many many years. Im currently working on one that will be published to the web for public beta testing in a few months, many other organazations are also working on the same project. If any questions email me @ footballp2@aim.com

I got my xbox chipped and can now play PS2 games on it but it was quite expensive and not many of the shops can be found. (it really depends on where you live).

Its impossible. You'd need a PS2 to play PS2 games and vice versa.

Why the hell would you want to do that. Sony hasn't got CRAP for games. Maybe " red faction " but other than that, microsoft has the best games.

I am not 100% sure about this answer, but unless you know how to solder and mess around with the internal components (which is probably illegal), you will not be able to. Every piece of hardware that can read a CD has a specific format that can read certain formats of a CD. I know that when DVDs first came out, this was the problem. Each player had a different reading format, which meant that some CDs played in it but others could not. Finally, a universal format was agreed on and is now the required format in ALL DVD players. Because XBOX and PS3 are individual products, they are not required to have a common reading format. Sony and Microsoft do not want a consumer to be able to buy their games without first buying their very expensive players, so the formats are most likely patented and therefore unique.

Modchips? Sounds like that will definitely make your warranty void and null. I would recommend buying a PS2 unless your warranty has already run out.
Also it sounds like there would be problems with the controllers because they are different, unless there is a way to use a PS2 controller on an Xbox, and that will cost even more money in addition to the modchip installation.

You can't play PS2 games on xbox or vice-versa, there's no such mod chip. The "I can do it but it's sooooo expensive" replies are lies.

I took the motherboard out of a MacBook Pro, cracked it in half, and shoved it into my Xbox via the DVD tray. I'm not exactally sure how this works, but now I can play PS2 games on my Xbox.

Even better; the games have somehow been wildly enhanced. For instance, when I play PS2's Off Road Fury 2 on my Xbox, the bales of hay that line the track have been replaced with naked women with perfectly sized breasts.

No Point, Best thing to do is build a Computer and shove it in a compact media case, the size of a DvD player, get the emulator, then buy Xbox 360 Controllers. You can up scale to 1080P and 4x anti-laising if you build a good enough pc
