No. Just like any other kitty he needs his shots and wormings. Being prone to health issues is dependent on his lineage. If his mommy and daddy or bros and sis' have problems, then it could be considered a health risk watch. If he has an unusually short/flat face he may have issues with his nose and ears. Although true tabbies are long sleek and have full faces. Hope this helps.

I wish that one of the Vets i have gone to over the years would have informed me that if your cat isn't eating they can have their liver dysfunction ,it will shut right down within 24-48 hours and they will die. I think all people should be aware of this with cats. They also do not need all these vaccine's we give them, actually it threatens their health. I had my first orange tabby cat for 13 years, he was so loving and he is the best cat I ever owned. He developed crystals in his urine which cased him discomfort but I changed to better quality food and the problem subsided. My new orange tabby cat which I have had for 5 years has had some issues with his anal glands getting impacted and they had to be expressed a few times by a vet tech. Both of my orange boys got freckles on their eyelids, nose and mouth, this seemed to cause no trouble. My current orange cat is a bit of a piggy when it comes to eating but that has more to do with his previous environment and is probably not typical. Duncan 1987-2001

They are very prone to FLUTD do not under any circumstances feed Tuna, raw fish or cat biscuits. FLUTD is an agonising disease for a cat and red and orange tabbys are particularly susceptible. Once they have it its very difficult to cure as it can re-occur take my word for it my cat died of flutd 2 days ago. The best diet for a cat is raw flesh meats especially fowl or wild game. Cats who eat cat biscuits are candidates for diabetes. Biscuits might be convenient but in the end they are deadly - despite what manufacturers might say. cats cannot digest cereals, they are carnivores. If they don't eat it in the wild then they shouldnt be eating it in captivity.
