Ugly is also in the eye of the beholder. For me it's generally a person who is nasty, self-centered, egotistical etc....all the bad traits and NOTHING nice about them that I am able to find. But some people also like that and to them the same person may be beautiful....

Ugly is in the mind of conceit. Usually those who feel they have over whelming outer beauty fail to have inner beauty and judge others by what they see on the surface.

That's pretty much in the eye of the beholder also. However, people talk about inner beauty and I agree with that concept. It therefore follows that there is also inner ugly that we usually don't see with first glance. So, ugly can be both outer ugly and inner ugly. If that is in the same person, etc. Wow!!! BEWARE!

In my opinion, "ugly" is a person's state of mind....something deep, dark and hideous that dwells with closed, hate-filled minds. If you had asked my dad, he would have probably said (because he was a goofy dork like I am...that's where I get it from!) "Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes right to the bone!" Not sure where he heard that, but it always made me laugh.

Same place..though not so pleasant to look upon..Beauty of thought, beauty of words, beauty of action, beauty of spirit, beauty of character, beauty of truth, beauty of honor, beauty of friendship, beauty of love, beauty of kindness, beauty of generosity, beauty of selflessness..ugly is the exact opposite of that which is beautiful. Surface beauty waxes and wanes, ebbs and flows, comes with surgery, makeup, artifice...its value is problematic! :)

Ugly is in the eye of the withholder... if you're ugly, you ain't getting any... LOL I agree with the above that it is also with the beholder. Whether you are ugly or not depends on your self image and personality.
