Nope, and I don't want to go there. The only country I want to visit is America.

Yes, many times. Although, this rule should apply where ever you travel to. Be very careful with anything of value, it is actually better if you leave expensive watches and jewellery at home. I have had taxi drivers in Italy refuse to move until I hid my jewellery in my cloths. Because he knew that if the wrong person saw me they would attempt a snatch and grab. Also, my Italian friends have had jewellery and watches ripped off them by tag teams on scooters. If you buy something in the many open markets DO NOT leave the stall until you have examined that the object/item was actually placed in the bag. Especially, if it is something in a box. They may either try and give you an empty box or a box with rocks in it. Naples is the worse place for this deciet. Now, having said that Italy is a great place enjoy the people, the art, and the food. If you are going to Florence, besides the great art & architecture there are some great designer outlets, that are worth visiting.

I went twice, the first to Milan and the second to Firenze (Florence)...I liked Firenze, but I prefer Barcelona...

Ciao! Going there tomorrow. I am frustrated, if not downright angry, by the frequency of petty crime targeting tourists in Italy. The coins tourists throw into the Trevi Fountain totals more than 3000 euros daily. That money is spent by the city to feed the homeless. While it is a very humanitarian deed, I wish the Italian government would spend more money to protect the tourists who bring money into their economy. They can, for example, increase the presence of police in touristy areas and crack down on pick pockets, purse and jewelry snatchers.

No but it's on the itinerary for when I make my European vacatio. So many wonderful places to see.

For ten days, my son paid our way for a marvelous turnback in the pages of history. unbelievable, Italy. Do not forget the vineyards and the free wine sampling. the best wine, we sampled, came from southern Italy. the climate, the grapes and the slope of the mountain sides, all make for the best wine in the world. Have fun, but take plenty of money and a book on understanding the language of Italy. the Italians love children.
-
Yes, I was born there.
-
Just came back from Tuscany actually. It is beautiful, but the best bit was the wood burning pizza oven built into the villa we stayed in. Mmmmm, pizza.
-
Yes many times.

Yes! They have interesting oven-baked, flat, usually round breads covered with tomato sauce and often cheese, with other toppings left optional... And a great culture.

Yes. I stayed about a week in Rome a couple of years ago. It is fascinating. I love the way that European people live. They do it to the fullest with a lot of passion. I did all the typical colleseum, vatican, etc. tours. I have been to many countries and Italy was my favorite.
