If you are a U.S. citizen then you are qualified...including everyone on the site who is a U.S. citizen. There is no litmus test to become a President, a V.P. or any public office in the U.S. goverment. That said Palin is perfectly qualified as is Biden and Obama along with McCain.

The better question is how is Barack Obama qualified, for he just has a few degrees, community organizing experience and 2 years of senate time, most of which he spent running for office. Palin was mayor, which is executive experience, instead of just signing bills like Barack, and then 2 years as governor of Alaska, where she had to manage a state budget, and make tough choices on the fly, not be able to vote present at any time while behind that desk.

Obama has two years as a junior senator sith a majority of votes listed as "present." I think that if that sets the baseline, she is qualified. Disclaimor: I am an independent supporting neither candidate. Maybe we need less "qualified people", case in point, everyone has been quite excited about Obama. Also, getting an attorney's salary to do Mother Teresa'a work of community organizing/soup kitchening isn't as pure as snow. Washington, Jackson, Tyler, Roosevelt, Eisenhower had no experience either. They were Generals who won wars and had the convenience of name recognition. Actually Washington was a farmer as was Jefferson.
