I would ask them in most situations.
-
I always ask.
-
In most cases I could figure it out based on what they were saying...if that one word was all that critical, sure, I'd ask.
-
I would convince them that they are mistaken. That it is not a word, they are making it up and shouldn't do such things to our beautiful English language. Now, if you want to be a good girl you'll go make a cake and forget you ever made that word up.
-
I ask always, always
-
In just a general setting, I would let it go unless I knew the person very well. But, if it was an educational type of conversation I would ask what the word meant
-
I let it go. I do this so often it is not even funny. I don't even notice I'm doing it. Same with reading..I just kind of guess what the word means.
-
It's up too you, but sometimes it's not so smart. I was talking to a group of girls and the words cunnalingus and felatio came up and i was incredibly embarrassed when i asked and they told me they were the names for female and male oral sex respectively... It's your choice. Embarrass yourself all you want :P

Generally I'd let it slide and try to gather what they are saying by the rest of what I did catch. If it seemed like an important word, one that could totally change their statement, then I'd double check with them. If it came out sounding like a word that would make the statement funny, I'd definitely point it out for laughs (if the situation would be appropriate for joking around).

Ask, ask, and ask.
-
Generally, I wouldn't ask because it should be pretty easy to figure out what they mean overall without getting hung up on the details of each word. Like some of the others that have answered here, if it was in an educational setting or if it's possible the word might change the meaning of the sentence, then I will ask. But that's not often.
-
Ive chatted to people on here and said english phrases and they dont understand lol
-
well.. depends on whether or not it loses the meaning of the sentence. in most cases, i can figure out what was probably said in many languages. if its important, i will ask politely. if not seemingly important, i wont interrupt.
