Did you know many states require a wife's signature for a husband to have a vasectomy, but the wife can have an abortion without any notification whatsoever?

no i didn't. I don't think either should require a signiture for permission but requiring the spouse to be notified is a good idea for both.

Never heard that, and I'm kinda shocked. I can see the discrepancy. An abortion doesn't limit further pregnancies except in rare cases. A vasectomy would eliminate any chance of pregnancy....most of the time....until he got it reversed.... But still, it's a man's body. He should tell his wife of course, but he shouldn't legally need her awareness, and especially shouldn't need her permission.

Nor does a wife have to have a husbands signature to have her tubes tied.
