If you have an urgency to urinate and a discomfort or pain, then it may be a bladder infection. It's easily treated. The Dr. will ask for a sample of urine and look for bacteria in it and if it's present, will put you on antibiotics. It won't go away on its own. If you just have to go for a long time, but there is no accompanying pain, then it's probably that you drank a lot of fluid and are able to hold a lot before relieving, and that's a good thing.

You might benefit from doing Kegel exercises, if you are worried about being able to hold it. Yes, men can do them too, not just women. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/kegel-exercises/WO00119
