  • Sin.....
  • The absense of good.
  • People. People are the root of all evil just as they are the root of all good. We need look no further than ourselves to see the width and breadth of this. Nature, that exists all around us, is devoid of both good and evil. Nature just is. People, on the other hand, are blessed/cursed with reason. This reason can be influenced by many things, mostly by other people. This reason is how we color our world with good and evil. Reason is how we not only make and do good and evil, but also how we disseminate between the two. The only time we think of other people either being unreasonable or evil, is when they do not share what we hold to be our basic values; what we hold to be good.
  • Psychologically, extreme fear can provoke one to commit evil acts. Trying to kill/eliminate the object upon which fear is projected is the logic of the deranged, evil person. It is the fight in the primitive fight or flight response to perceived danger.
  • Sure... it's the concentration of all the negative energy in the universe. But to piss off the thumpers: God created Satan, Satan created evil, therefore God is the root of evil.
  • Microsoft.
  • Fear is the root of all dysfunctional behavior!
  • Selfishness combined with a lack of empathy. A very deadly combination. This combination has caused so much horror and grief in the world throughout history. swabby
  • A lack of balance between the needs of self and the needs of others leads people to commit acts of evil.
  • -- Fear breeds Hate. ---- and then hate forms into evil.
  • love of money??
  • I have no idea what this question means...
  • It's not quite right to say "evil exists" -- that's an abstraction, a concept. What actually exists is ACTIONS: and some actions can be legitimately called evil. But always, all that's going on is specific actions by specific people, not some vague amorphous substance or entity called "evil". So then what is the source of evil actions? There's a whole book-length explanation that SHOULD go here, but the bottom line is that evil actions arise from ignorance, greed, and fear/anger. The most basic form of ignorance is confusion about self: about what it means to be "me". Basically, we cling to false forms of "self", and that produces selfishness and self-centeredness. Actions arising from self-centeredness, greed, and fear/anger are very likely to do damage, and that's where evil actions enter the stage. So the whole notion of evil as some kind of force in the universe -- like gravity or electromagnetism -- is nonsense arising from our lack of understanding.
  • Money is the root of all evil, so therefore to love money is to be supremely evil, or greedy. Greed requires two things, both love and money. What also requires love and money? Women.
  • i or sqrt(-1) The root of all evil is imaginary, therefore you can't find the answer as a real number using math. It's really sad because I really want to be the one who finds the root of all evil but it will never be a real number, it can't even just be irrational.
  • Wow good question..tough one too. I'm not entirely sure there's an answer for that. I know a lot of people believe in devils or evil spirits. I tend to lean away from those aspects. In my opinion, I think if the mind you were born with is inherently evil, possibly from a past life, it will remain jaded through the rest of its existence, no matter how many other bodies it comes in contact with. May seem like an 'out there' answer, but I think I believe that pretty firmly. .moses.
  • Girls If girls require time, then Girls = Time If time is money, then simple substitution gives us Girls = Money It is commonly known that money is the root of all evil, so Girls = sqrt(evil) Let the negative ratings flow.
  • I am its roots!!!!!!!lol
  • Rebelling against God................whether it's you, me, or the Devil.
  • Well according to the Holy Bible,it can not be placed on GOD, even though he created all things. He is not a part of moral evil (wickedness) for such is opposed to the holy nature of God according to (Isaiah 6:3). Jehovah is a “God of faithfulness and without wrong doing according to (Deuteronomy 32:4). He is “NOT a God that gets pleasure from wickedness/evil” read (Psalm 5:4). Nor can it be supposed that this has to do with Jehovah’s original creation, at the end of the week of his creation, the Lord saw everything that he had made, and, wow!, it was very good back up support (Genesis 1:31). Accordingly GOD is NOT the Root of EVIL or wickness.
  • God. "I am the L-rd, and there is none else. I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil. I am the L-rd, that does all these things." (Is. 45:6-7).
  • I'm not sure if it exists... personally I think there is something in some people that is close enough for me to describe as evil... but it depends on your definition. I think it's roots are like the roots of most any plant... there are many of them and they are all intermingled and too tangled up to distinguish. Anything can breed negativity: greed, arrogance, fear, jealousy. You name it.
  • There is no root of evil it just is. As good just exists, its opposite, evil, must exist. There is no root of good, there is no root of evil. Evil just is, and will be.
  • Human failing itself is the root..like envy, greed, jealousy, hate..
