  • It's obviously a hardware problem. It could just be a loose controller, or a dirty controller port; those are easy to check for and resolve. If the problem is not one of the above, then either the controller is defective or the controller port is defective. Try using a different controller. Also try using the other port. If the problem is the controller, just throw it out and buy a new one; they're not worth fixing. Defective controller ports aren't hard to replace; any video game shop should be able to help you with that.
