Yes. In fact, the Telethon has actually helped someone in my extended family.

I think it's good way to raise money but I don't watch it. From my perspective, a better way to raise my awareness would be to run announcements during the programs I watch that included details about NMD's and how they affect their victims.

Jerry Lewis has been an icon in raising money and educating many people all over the world about certain high risk medical conditions and also MDA. He and his group have been doing this yearly for many years with lots of successes. I hope he has plans to take his message into the future years because many Children with these diseases as well as Research Centers look toward him for support. I feel if more people cared / we would have more research--its that simple.
