ive honestly always thought twice before shopping there. they move in and choke out local businesses, then they dont give the same opportunities to women. I listen to National Public Radio and years back they were doing news peices on women who had been working there for 20+ years who had never been considered for a pay raise/promotion while teenage boys are there for 3 months and make manager.

Not at all, I mean I think about everything and give my oinions about he whole situation but my overall shopping has not been affected, when I am looking for a deal, or need household supplies Walmart is the most affordable in my area so therefore I choose to shop thre. Just because others are having issues within Walmart doesnt mean that we should stop our daily shopping places from getting our buisness. We can still be supportive of the others, but save money at the same time. I guess this sounds silly ..

No, most of the bad publicity is from their competitors, such as the owners of Safeway. All this business of them causing small business to fail in nonsense. The only reason small business fails is the price of goods. If they would form a co-op they could do bulk business similar to Wal Mart and stay in business. I don't think Wal Mart has much to worry about, their revenue is right around $42 million every hour of every day.

No, all the negative publicity they've built up over decades causes me to NOT shop there. Their unofficial motto: "Wal-Mart - We abuse our employees, our middle management, our suppliers, the environment, and your local economy...and pass the savings on to you!" . . .
