I am selling my privately owned gun to another person. Is there any paper work involved wih change of ownership?

yes there is because if you just give it to another person and he gets caught with it the gun will still be under your name and he will get into A LOT of trouble.

Depends where you are. In the US, so long as you are both residents of the same state, and the weapon is not a machine gun or "any other weapon" under NFA guidelines there is no federal paperwork involved. Your state may require paperwork. Even if they do not, it is best to have a bill of sale or receipt to document the transaction should the gun end up being used in a crime.
