No they don't. Whether or not there have been terrorist attacks on U.S. soil is utterly irrelevant. The fact that there continue to be terrorist attacks anywhere in the world justifies it.

We all have to tolerate these even here in the UK security is at an alltime level....I think the USA may be a little over the top ,my son travels back and forth to Ohio with his job,and it is what he as told me that I base my opinion.

Of course it does. Regardless of the fact the enemy is still in existence or not outside America or within. The safety of american women and children is utmost priority right now. They are the ones who are being targeted too. It is a real painful process and I hate it but when you see a security officer asking a mother of a child to confiscate milk in a bottle or in UK I have been asked to taste the liquid of a baby milk bottle it feels you are being targeted but it is for everyones safety. It will be an adverse affect on certain governments who orchestrate such terrorist attacks themselves and they have no choice but to follow the UN security guideleines of air safety. I feel it is not justified to make the public of those countries suffer the process. But they are at more risk of internal attacks whether real or false and they require the security measures the most. Scary thought.

Yes absolutely. And in the UK, too. People who find the strict security checks, scans and searches annoying need to think a bit about how these kinds of brief airport inconveniences really help to keep us safe. I once saw a guy at the airport going crazy at the staff because they took his cigarette lighter away! Maybe this guy held his smoking habit way above eveything else...
