  • Giving pets medicatoin in the form of pills can be a challenge. Dogs are usually pretty easy, as you can generally stick it into something they like to eat as a treat. Cats are a different story. You can give it to a cat by hand, which is the way I would do it. you wo it the same way you would a dog: have the animal face you, use one hand to cup under the jaw and open the mouth. Put the pill far back on the tongue and then hold the mouth shut until he swallows. You can massage the throat with your free hand to encourage the swallowing action as well. You could try crushing up the pill and adding it to their food, but you need to make sure they eat ALL the food you put the medication in.
