I liked in the begining when the researched X-Files. I got sick of the sister story line, going on and on and on...

When Mulder left the show

Definitely the FIRST PERSON SHOOTER episode in series 7.

IT NEVER JUMPED THE SHARK! I do have to agree that there had been some shitty episodes ("First Person Shooter" was certainly one of them) and that, at some moments, the original magic of the show seemed to be fading away (specially after David Duchovny left the show in season 8)... But the thing is that just when it was least expected, a new great episode would air containing all the elements that made this show so memorable: intelligent dialogues, philosophy quesions beeing argued, a beautiful photography... And of course, the way in which these 2 characters could express so much with only a gesture, one look or one hugh... And I think here lies the real key of the sucess of this show: Mulder and Scully' characters were just so complete, because even though the audience was never aware of their feelings (they didn't use to talk about themselves and we'd rarely see any aspects of their personal lifes) we all knew what were they longing for, what were their deepest fears and, of course, how bad they were dying for each other... And the credit goes for the wirters, but also for Gillian Andeson and David Duchovny's great interpretation and the very well-known “chemistry” between them...

I stopped watching as much after season 7. I didn't like the Dogget/Reyes storyline. It was like they were trying to do a Mulder/Scully thing with them, (with Dogget the skeptic, (like Scully) and Reyes the believer (like Mulder)) and it didn't work very well. I also didn't like it beyond that point because Mulder was gone. It just wasn't the same, and I really didn't like it when Scully had to give William up. She had two kids during the series and she lost both of them (Emily in season 5, then William in season 9.)

I stopped watching when David Duchovny left shame great show.
