  • Same place it is in most cars. Over 98% of them are inside the dashboard behind the radio. I don't know how hard it is to remove the entire dashboard and center console on an Intrepid, but even an '89 Golf is a bitch and those things are less enclosed than most modern cars. My experience is that head gaskets are easier to get at and replace on most cars.
  • give it up and pay the 300-500 to replace it. I tried to do a heater core once and the dash never got put back together... never reached the core either
  • Everything on the Intrepid is hard to access, have you found the battery yet?
