  • My landlord and my mom have a key to my apartment. Never even occurred to me to give my friends a key. Don't know why they'd need it.
  • If you were going to have them "house-sit" for you, while you were on vacation. House sitting has advantages, if you really do trust the friend.
  • you know i dont think its right cuz these days some people have forgot humanity :(( like my friend hmph after 4year friend ship i just understood she was using me all this time....
  • If you came up with the idea of giving the key then you would know why you were thinking about it. If this friend came out and asked for a key, then forget all the suggestions of how it might help you, that's just a smoke screen or a pay-off to even things up; you need to look at how it might help them. Why do they want access to your place when you're not there? Dodgy. A real friend would be honest about how this is going to benefit them.
  • Always a good idea if you can trust that friend. I had a friend who was deadly ill but lived 1200 miles away and one day I did not here from them for three days which was not normal. I knew she lived alone and did not trust many people but I talked her into giving a key to a friend so they could check on her from time to time. The key saved her life 3 times as her friend came in when worried and seen she was in need of medical attention. The forth time she was not so lucky. The thing is when we drop out of site people get worried someone having a key has access just in case.
  • Only if the fellow was named "POLICE in HOT PURSUIT" would I do it! I don't think I'd trust ANYONE else who's not related to me. :)
  • In case you got sick and unconscious, not showing up for work, someone could get in and find you before your dead. But then there is also swat.
