Help me! it seems i am stuck in "portait mode" and i need to be in "landscape mode"....help?

Your monitor is sideways? You can fix that by hitting [CTRL]+[ALT]+[UP Arrow].

It depends on what your monitor and video card are. I (personally) would go into ATI Catalyst, open up Display Manager, and change the orientation there.
