  • Hypatia of Alexandria Egypt. She was an incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable philosopher who was one of the last scholars of the "golden age" of ancient civilization. I would love to visit with her about wisdom of the ages, her views of mathematics, ethics, history and spirituality. I would have her give me an extended tour of the great library of Alexandria. Most of all I would warn her that if she remained at her home, she would be accosted by monks who would humiliate and then kill her because she was too smart. Perhaps we could work together to save the most valuable volumes of knowledge before the Vatican's soldiers torched the library's buildings to destroy all the records of ancient wisdom and knowledge. At the very least, if I wasn't allowed to alter history, I'd love to spend every moment absorbing and taking notes of the most wise topics she would speak upon. I realize this fantasy could become an epic motion picture, but this is one I've wished for since I was a college student many years ago. swabby

(Supposedly before she ate the apple all the animals were friendly)

  • i would have loved to meet Jesus Christ. being that he is the son of almighty God of the universe. he said that beholding him we would be beholding his father. meaning that he is the perfect image of his father in heaven. being a perfect man here on earth he taught those around him what we can someday to achieve. even now as imperfect beings if we read the inspired word of God we can imitate him, not to perfection but as best we can. it must have been quite an expeerience to actually meet the only perfect man ever to exist, aside from adam. i picture him as a very handsome, elegant man yet so humble and down to earth that even small children were drawn to him, without fear of being rejected. he was someone you could go and pour your heart out to without feeling intimidated. to actually watch him perform the miracles such as feed the hungry, heal the sick, even resurrect the dead, must have been the experience of a lifetime. what an honor for anyone to have witnessed this man the son of God. and also come to know that to imitate him was to imitate his and our father in heaven.

  • My dad would be my first choice but I'm sure you're thinking more in terms of famous people. This is tricky because meeting someone you hold in high esteem can a double edged sword. Usually you have an idealize image of them that can be shattered when you actually meet them in person and their "humanness" spills out. But I think I'd take my chances with George Washington- I think he'd be the least likely to disappoint and I'd love to get his opinion of how the country is going now. (He'd probably weep)
