What does dating teach you about a person that will actually let you know what kind of marriage partner they will be? What would be a better way to find out what kind of a husband/wife someone would be than dating?

Dating tells you how well they schmooze. It tells you what kind of chemistry you have together, to some accuracy. Spending time together on a day-to-day basis is more telling. Shopping, travelling, spending time with friends and family, and just hanging out while NOT on a date will show you more of their personality's spectrum.

Borrow his car, take his credit card, add yourself to his checking account, and throw his dog out on the street. If he doesn't try to break free of the bonds you've wrapped around him, or at least if he doesn't start crying, then he may be decent husband material.
