No, silence does not confirm guilt. Jesus was silent before Pilate although He was not guilty of any sin or crime. In fact He challenged His accusers to prove His sins.

Jesus was about to die. To argue in defense could well have set him free, and defeat God's purpose. Isaiah 53:7 foretold that he must remain silent. In any case, we was NOT the king of the Jews, but king of the new Christian covenant.
