Your mother could have any of the following blood types for it to be possible: AA (seen as Blood Group A) AO (seen as Blood Group A) AB (seen as Blood Group AB) The A/B/O system refers to one set of antigens on the blood cell. The rhesus positive refers to another set of antigens. So you could definitely be rhesus positive. In genetics you basically carry two versions of most genes (this is a simplified view, but you get the picture). This means that when your rhesus blood type is being determined you pick up 2 genes (1 from each parent) out of a possible 4 genes. So even if your parents only had 1 rhesus positive gene out a possible 4, you would still have a 50/50 chance of being Rh+.
