What prevents a person from continually filing false claims against another person just to be vindictive? (i.e. harassment, stalking, child abuse, etc.)

well hopefully when the truth is found, the victims have a chance to clear the air... hopefully they get a "cries wolf" tag associated with any future claim so they are just disregarded

defamation torts - slander & libel are serious business. and countersuits. but theres some wackjobs out there who are hellbent on revenge or just plain crazy.

Unfortunately, you cannot stop them. Ask your lawyer or a child advocate of the court to get a restraining order to protect the child. Keep detailed records of every incident, and be sure to notify the police whenever he shows up. Best of luck to you.

Colorado has a law against doing such a deed.
