I think the "8th Wonder of the World" is really just a marketing device used by everyone from tourist boards to Ripley's Believe It Or Not. It's just a highly subjective term used to draw attention to something spectacular, or at least what those claiming this believe to be spectacular! Traditionally, since the time of the first known list of Wonders (about the 2nd century CE), there have been only seven. There have been numerous lists, but they all contain just seven Wonders each. So, the concept of the "8th Wonder" would seem to indicate something superlative to anything that has come before. Note: Hmm.... Maybe I should have tried to be funny?

I don't think there is one. They are making a new seven wonders of the world and the statue of liberty is going to be in it.
