  • Yes, I have a oil painting by M. Rommel of a village in Germany. My husband purchased it 30 some years ago
  • He was the mayor of Stuttgart from the 75s till the later 90s. He's very very popular man for Stuttgart's inhabitants until today, because he's a very humorously human until today and he was a very good mayor. He writes very humorously essays until today, although he's 80 years old. And by the way, he's the son of one of the most famous german military leaders of WWII, Major Rommel, in german so-called the "Wüstenfuchs"(Fox of desert). Although his father worked for the Nazi regime (mainly in Africa and for the so-called Atlantic-Wall in France), he's renowned as an more human leader with a straight professional understanding of his military tasks. He has been executed by Adolf Hitler's regime because of his uncompliably attidute during the WW2-operations in the and his more critical engagement against the Nazi regime. So I would say the father of Manfred Rommel is the only military german hero of WW2. For Manfred Rommel hisself just look here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manfred_Rommel
