    It would be useful, I have never received an email about new categories. I only find out how many idiotic ones have been accepted when I am browsing around.

    A "Category Corner" column sounds like the perfect place for this, especially if they also had a "newsletter archive" - which I see as basically exactly like the blog, only carrying the newsletters, instead of notes from the Admins. Of course, this takes staff to do, and it appears they don't have enough staff to take care of moderations and programming/scripting problems quickly enough for many.
