What is the overall best race to choose from in The Elder Scrolls lV: Oblivion?

I always played as a Dark Elf, because Drow are freaking awesome.

Their is no best race each have pros and cons but ive played with all of them. i consider Breton to be the best for the magic resistance.

well in my opinion your race reflects on your personallity if your a sneaky person in real life your probably a Kijit or Arrgonian but Arrogonians are spell casters as well you maybe thinking that is right but they share to types of classes, if you are a warrior type class your probably a imperial, redguard, orc, or the dark elf, but for the magic casters you could be anything magic in my opinion should not be a class cause anyone can use it even the most warrior of warriors can use magic its soo easy to level, like i said no point but the only thing mages are good for are healing but since TESO is FPM there is no point, any spell caster is better on wow anyway

It honestly depends entirely on your preferred playing style. Imperials are good for both up-front fighting and bargaining, Nords and generally perfect for sword and armour combat and carrying lots of stuff. Bosmer are good Marksmens and good for sneaking around. Bretons are good Marksmen/spellcasters. Dunmer (a shame about their voiceacting compared to Morrowind) are decent Destrucion battlemages and swordsmen. The Altmer are perfect all-around spellcasters. Khajiit make great thieves through and through, while Argonians have a more magical edge and aren't as tough. Orcs are great with heavy armour and blunt weapons.

I don't think there is a best race. I rather like Wood Elves and Bretons, but that's just a preference. I'm sure that every race has the potential to be just as good as the others.

no best - but Redguard looks the most attractive to my eye.. might try for Khajit next time.

well, i'm always a dark elf, so i'll just be biased and say dark elves are the best race.
