  • First off, you don't know how intelligent anyone is. If I'm talking to a car mechanic about cars, he knows a shitload more than I do so I listen (but really don't understand) to what he has to say. If the conversation changes from something other than cars, who knows. You have to read your audience. You don't want to come of as Frasier compared to his dad, although his dad was probably smarter in the big scheme of things.
  • duuuuuuuuurrghhh dunno
  • I doubt i would be more intelligent than most people. I might be as intelligent, but i always speak as i find and do not dumb down. You can always learn something new off anyone.
  • I have to do this almost every time I sit down at a poker table :)
  • No. I would rather try to teach or tell them what I know and try to learn from them. They may be only just less intelligent, not completely dumb. So I may have to learn from them too!
  • That's how I feel at work, although I don't think its because I am smarter, its because the other people don't care. In those situations, I tend to take charge and lead the group. This question is a description of just aobut every group project from college through my present job. (Again, not because I am smarter, but usually because I am the only on who cares.)
  • NO WAY!!!
  • Not not that I know of. I think I know more about science, math, geography, and history than my friends do. When we discuss matters in those categories I try to give intelligent input without steeping the conversation in esoteric vernacular; I wouldn't really say that I play dumb. I believe that I also show due respect for their views and their questions. However, a lot of the time we talk about sports and music. I consider us to be generally equal in those areas. My niece isn't as knowledgeable as I am in a lot of areas but she is bilingual whereas I'm not, so I give her total respect for that. Overall though, I don't really consider any of them to be less intelligent than I am. I can't really recall being in a group outside of a message board where I felt that I was more intelligent than them. When I've seen people or a person having trouble grasping a concept that I understand I don't really play anything; I usually try to help them comprehend it as clearly and as respectfully as I can. :)
  • No, they have to except me the way I am.
  • I think I do that, I kind of alter myself depending on who I'm around. I would tailor the things i talk about to things on their level, not everything though, some things I would be myself with and just take the time to explain so they could "get it", but definitely would play dumb for the majority of time so I wouldn't have to explain things and get frustrated by them not getting something that i think is common sense.
