The answer to your unfinished riddle is to ask either guard which door the OTHER guard would say is the one which leads to heaven. And then choose the opposite one.

Answer: Ask either guard: "If I were to ask the other guard which door leads to heaven, which one would he tell me?" Whichever door is indicated, you take the other door!
