Do nail polish remover pads or wipes take off dark thick nail polish easily?

Sometimes dark, thick nail polish need to be sanded or filed off. Or you can soak them in a small bowl of polish remover. I don't really care for the remover pads, it takes too many of them to get the polish off.

What you need for that is acetone remover... as opposed to acetone free remover.
