A good digital recording will sound clear, warm, and alive, with astonishing impact and presence, lifelike dynamic range, no hiss at all, and no distortion. Put it this way, you can make digital sound like analog but you cant make analog sound like digital. Alot of people hype analog, but its actually just an artifact on the sound, one you can recreate with e.q and compression.

It isn't Ms. Quite the reverse actually. If two recordings are made from an identical source, the analogue (correct spelling) recording will have greater depth and range than a digital recording. They're a little long, but I recommend any enthusiast of genuine sound recording to read the following articles (perhaps print it out for easier reading and keeping as it is worth doing so). http://www.irdial.com/w34.htm http://www.irdial.com/w33.htm

If you want TRUE sound, analog is best. Digital electronically converts the soundwave and actually cuts the high end frequencies. Digital is fine for the useless bubble gum pop, but if you want to hear the true grittiness of blues, grunge, rock.... go analog!

actually RhythmBoy analogue is spelt two ways depending on the source or country you are in! it can be analog or analogue. anyways! this question is tricky because it is a 100 percent opinion question! i started on all analogue systems and now work on a protools HD3 accel system and love it! to the untrained ear neither sound better and digital is cheaper and faster! now that being said this is on a GOOD digital interface that coststs about 60 grand! the console we are using has sold more units in two years than any other console EVER and has been used on over 10 gold albums and 15 grammy winning albums.

Reffering to process: Digital is MUCH more flexible, easier, less time consuming and cheaper than analoge. in terms of sound quality... most people outside of the knowledgable range of recording flat out cant tell the diference. In the end, its all opinion... And mine is Digital is flippin awesome! Analouge is... not bad.

I think they are about equal. Digital voice recorders can be (usually are) very compact and have very long recording times. Analog tapes have greater compatibility, but are relatively bulky and limited to 2 hours (C-120, normal speed). 4 hours is possible at half-speed, but few recorders have this. Recording 4-track mono is a possibility with a stereo recorder. A digital voice recorder with a USB plug will enable recordings to be e-mailed or burned onto CDs. Cassettes can be distributed to people who do not have computers, MP3 players, or CD players. To get as much recording time on analog tape as some digital recorders, you would need a 14-inch reel of triple-play tape running at 1-7/8 IPS.

Analog TV or Audio has a better spectrum than digital. Only people educated in electronics seem to be able to understand this. If you record a sound of 10KHz in analog, you would get a perfect sine wave back. If you record 10KHz with a 40KHz sample rate in digital, you would get what looks like a stair case of 4 steps up and 4 steps down. That's called distortion.
