    The Chief

    Blood.

Do you know how many bumps, bruises, and cuts a boy can get? There wasn't a rock or tree I couldn't climb, a tool in the garage I wouldn't use, a bike I couldn't wreck, or something fragile that I couldn't break. Not to mention all the fights I got into!

Ah, childhood! Sometimes I think it was simply amazing I survived!

Oh, yeah. Add Fanta Red Creme Soda to the list, along with pecan pie, lemon merangue pie, and ice cream sandwiches.

My childhood tastes like chocolate ice-cream on a cone with chocolate sprinkles, Sno cones, rainbow cookies and kit kats. Then there came a point where it tasted like rotten cheese and sour apple. But then it got better and started to taste like chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles again. ;0)

Pineapple Sherbet. When I was young my mom, sis and I went to the movies every Saturday..just before we went to the theater, we'd stop off at an ice cream shop across the street from the theater and get ice cream. I remember that I used to love sherbet, especially pineapple. Once I got a 4-scooper! So pineapple sherbet pretty much brings back my childhood! Happy Tuesday! :) ((hugs))

    debtahals wears a curiosity COAT

Just had a wonderful time reading all sorts of interesting, poignant, fun and "down memory lane" answers here. So on that basis alone .. thanks for a great time and a great question! :)

Going to have to go with a list, I think ..
-- my maternal grandmother's "anything" that came out of her kitchen. German. Short, stout and white apron. It was the SMELL that grabbed you, and we all wanted the TASTE .. well .. asap. Main dish to side dishes to relishes to desserts. Breads were always homemade. Oh, that was heavenly!!! No, anything out out of her kitchen was heavenly!! :)
-- grew up in the country and we grew lots of different vegetables. So "supper" meant a request to run out back and "get" whatever it was. Green beans or radishes or cucumbers or squash .. or my favorite .. and this is one of my favorite TASTES? Pick then shuck .. fresh ears of corn. YUM.

Shoot - and there's still tons more! Remember those big red "fireballs" .. that were white by the time you got the middle of them .. hot at the start? lol Or the taste of 'SAMOREs???

And the tastes at summer picnics where we all knew who would bring what - potluck style - as they were "known for" that dish and we all looked forward to having it!

And fireman's carnivals .. and the taste of cotton candy

But somehow it's all rolled in together .. from BBQ 1/2 chicken at a community event .. to those ears of corn. Er .. multi-tastes of childhood, I guess! :)

It would taste the way Crayola crayons smell. Add a dash of grape bubble gum, and a little bit of dirt.

    something like salsa
taken apart each aspect (ingredient) has its own particular dimension; some are bitter, plain, sweet, strong, dynamic...
but when you put it all together it's definitely a fiesta :D
