  • I would say a child is never TOO old to be loved, cared for, given a better life.....it might be more difficult to adjust with age, but it's not impossible. As for the parents' age, it's the same as for a biological child. If you think you are too old to have a biological child then you are too old to adopt one.
  • it depends on each person, but I know that different agencies have different policies. Some have 40, some take the sum of the ages of both parents that cannot exceed 80, etc....
  • i would have to say at about the age of 50,to much of a gap, when the child is active lets say at the age of 10 the parents are already 60.average life span in us is about 80 but many die befor. Is it fair to make a child deal with elderly parents at the age of 15 when their peers parents are in their 30"s.Not to say that older folks wouldnt be great parents but at 60 can you really play foot ball with a child.in some way the people who have kids much later in life this is a selfish act not thinking of the effect it will have on a child socially.only that they want another child, my parents were both older when they had me, at 15 my father was 62 and could not bond with me in a way that a younger father could with a child.many people thought they were my grandparents, like it or not at a certain age it becomes unappropriate for an older person to become a parent.
  • karin is right, different agencies and different countries have different policies.
