The Cold War never ended. As long as there are nuclear weapons out there there will always be a Cold War.
-
No, well not as tense as the preious one was, at least.
-
Probably. But not like it was before. There is always the threat of nuclear attacks, which keeps people in a compromising mood!

I think that it's more likely that Russia has just started the next World War. Europeans are far more nervous about this than they are letting on. This was a deliberate attempt to get Georgia before they joined NATO. Russia has been very deligently pouring their oil money into the military. The question is why? I suspect that Putin wants the USSR back.
-
Georgia wanted land back and the Russians responded (obviously) a big time NO. This should not be our problem, let someone else deal with it, say the UN?
-
No, Russia is not financially able (nor is us US) to sustain a war machine like was created during the cold war. There will be tensions, but since a fair amount of Russia's ecomony is now based on trade with the US, and the US can't afford to lose that, we've all end up kissing each other's asses to make nice. Look at China for an example.

I don't think that relations will as cold as they have been in the past but it won't be as warm as they have been over the last few years. I hope that makes sense.

The reason we are at this point is because nitwit George has decided to place offensive missiles in Poland aimed at Russia! We now have the Cuban missile crisis all over again but in reverse this time! And Russia will not stand one moment for it! The israelis have put him up to it because they want the oil to flow through Haifa not through some lower Russian extension! These aren't defensive missiles! There is no such thing as shooting down another missile in flight! It can't be done with missiles! The idea that it is a missile shield is false! The Russians know this full well and will take what ever steps are necessary to have them removed!
