Overactive imagination can cause people to over-dramatize and over-react to a situation that is not as intense as it was chalked up to be. I think that it's important to engage the reality of the circumstance so that it can be handled appropriately.

acting on an overactive imagination can lead to trouble. like imagining that one can read minds....

Yes. An overactive imagination has lead a great great many to see the work of a supernatural being everywhere and lead many of those to believe that That Being favors them over others and has something against "those others". That favor / disfavor has often been imagined as license or even a command to go out and enslave and/or slaughter "those others". - Of course many of "those others" have their own Big Guy who has given them the same favor and all, so, either in self defense or retaliation or plain old aggression, they have gone out to enslave and kill their own bunches of 'those others". - These cycles, repeated throughout history through the current period, and everywhere people have been found, have been and still are a major cause of war, torture, human rights abuses so horrible contemplating them makes a person sick. - So in short, yes, an overactive imagination has been the direct cause of billions of deaths and lives wasted in misery. - And the DR's that are likely to follow. - +4
