depends on the situation... if you see a possible avoidance by speeding up then impact is reduced to zero :) but at the same time if you speed up and collide then impact is greater... be safe and concentrate because no two situations are ever the same

if they will hit you no matter what, than there are two options. If they are coming toward you (head on), than slowing down will reduce impact the most. (100mph coming at 0mph is a 100mph crash, vs 100mph, and 70mph making a 170mph crash). If they are coming up behind you (rear end), than speeding up will reduce impact the most. (a car going 100mph from behind hitting a car going 70mph is only a 30mph impact.

definitely slow down! ;) okay, say both vehicles are going 70, then that would be the same as hitting a wall at 140. if you speed up to 90, then you hit that wall at 160. definitely slow down! ;)
