A person PLEASE!!!!! I've learned that if you constantly repeat "Customer Service" instead of pushing a #, it will get you to a person much faster.

Definately prefer to talk to a person, as long as thay speak my language and know how to help me. So many times I have talked with someone I couldn't understand and/or they would talk about random things that had nothing to do with what I was calling about.
-
People even though my social skills suck.

Automated, with people you end up on hold, or asking "could you repeat that please" too many times.
-
A person ! Automated answering machines takes too long, and I don't have all day.
-
I prefer speaking to a real person though sometimes the automated prompt system is more accurate at choosing the correct department to solve a problem. What I truly hate is speaking to people who don't have the authority (or script in front of them) to solve problems which are outwith their remit and who won't pass you up the line to find someone who will help. Systems are no good if they don't cater for the exception or unexpected! M

Everything has become so impersonal these days, I'm more than surprised when I call someplace and don't get an answering machine or call router. I do prefer to speak with a person, that is if they speak my language and don't have a heavy accent.
-
Person. Someone that can assess my own personal experience that cannot be defined through a menu option list.
-
I hate computerized anything. Talking to a voice computer makes me feel like an idiot
