Now that the Army and Marines are getting MRAPs, what will they do with their old Humvees? To whom will they sell them to?

hopefully they will sell them to the public it would be sick to own a real hummwv instead of one of those lame hummers.

More than likely they'll probably just send them down to National Guard units and assign them to non combat deployed units. If they sell them to anybody it will probably be other nations like Israel. I honestly don't think too many Humvees are gonna fall into civilian hands anytime soon.

I saw the predecessor to the Humvee - the MUTT - on the streets of Saigon 10 years ago. That's the only time I've seen them in civilian hands. They were all to be rendered unusable (crushed transmission tunnel) on retirement because they were deemed unsafe for sale to the public. I presume something similar will be done with the HMMWVs.
