  • You have a right triangle with 90, 60, and 30 degrees. You could use Trigonometry, but it's been so long that I don't remember how to do it. Why don't you look in your textbook and then let me know?
  • If the pole is perpendicular to the ground, then the guy wire is forming the hypotenuse of a right triangle, in which case, you can use the Pythagorean theorem to determine the necessary length of the wire. [edit] My bad... see below comments.
