I cannot agree with your premise. It seems stereotypical. But when people in the trades seem impatient or rude, I suspect it is because they really want to finish their work, know how it should be done and are annoyed by the opinions of amateurs. If you are involved in construction, you will get your most diplomatic response from the Contractor or Supervisor. Generally, the workers have no authority to deal with your concerns.
