If it is a mechanical noise, such as the case creaking or popping, it is likely a thermal issue. As the unit warms up, the temperature changes cause the internal components to slightly change size and/or shape (e.g., warp). As the components physically change, they will move around and these movements can produce sounds. For example, if a circuit board is held tightly in a slot, movement will likely come in small jerks because it cannot slide freely. This sticking and slipping process will produce noise. It is not a problem unless the performance of the television is adversely affected, for example, by a circuit board deforming enough to cause a bad electrical connection. However, you should also check if there is any smell associated with the noises. A poor high-voltage electrical connection can arc, producing sparks and noise. This could cause the television to fail or, in rare cases, become a fire hazard. If there is any type of 'burning' smell, you should have the television inspected by a qualified individual.
