  • We live in Rural Montana and home schooled our son, He graduated early and left to go live with his uncle and attend college in Colorado. He is 17. He is a great kid and besides worrying about him constantly it feels like the life has gone out of our house, We have 4 horses 8 cats and our dog but he left a big empty spot when he left. The house is too quiet and I feel like I lost my best friend. I know it's normal for mothers to be depressed but I have been unusually depressed myself. I miss him terribly. Any other men go through this? He was our only child. It's awful lonesome around here now that he is gone. He has been gone for three weeks now getting settled.
  • You are not alone. When you think it through, it's really a good feeling. Means you did right.
  • There are many dads, that feel this way. You put your whole life into your child, now you are lost without them. Get some hobbies, maybe some that your son enjoyed, so when you are together you have things in common to do. Maybe schedule a day every week to go play a game or just hang out.
  • No need to worry enjoy the time for yourself. It won't be long they will come back around and bring more with them. Meaning wives and grandkids. mr Bill
  • My husband has cried even more than I have about our 2 college age kids moving out this Summer. It just means you are close to your kids and a feeling person. Be proud of yourself.
  • I have no doubt I will suffer with it.
