Try not to look at it like everybody is an authority. Try to look at it like people are offering options you may not have considered. Oh yeah, and I'm NOT an authority on that.

I don't claim to be an authority (even if AB gives that name to my rating). I claim to answer to the best of my ability. I think that this is true for most Answerbaggers. Which, actually, is all any Authority can do. You should always inquire what credentials and Authority has - some self-styled Authorities are nothing of the sort. And if you are getting *any* information from the Net, you should always check the authority of the informer. In many ways, AB is more honest than most. People are obviously answering for themselves. You can look at their other answers to see how well that person answers other questions, and you can look at ratings to see what other people think of that answerer
