I think humans need problems to solve; it's built into our genes, and if we didn't constantly strive to improve, we wouldn't be as developed as we are. Bearing this in mind, when we don't have big problems, we consider smaller ones to be just as bad. Gaining perspective is a bad thing to do in this case, as you still have the problem, but just feel worse about how much it bothers you. How to stop? I don't think you can. You were lucky not to feel like this for a while. Of course, this is all speculation on my part.

You are suffering from depression. It's not something you can just "snap yourself out of". http://www.watchtower.org/e/20040108/article_02.htm

Well, I think it's ok to realize sometimes that problems are problems and having a roof over your head doesn't really change it -- it's definetely a good thing, but it would be pretty hard to live in a state of perpetual graditute for everything in your life. Instead, it could be a good idea to figure out why these things bother you so much and what makes you unable to get over them. I don't really know much about your situation, but maybe that would help.
