Laws of physics, you're talking about a perpetual motion machine, google it

There a very fundamental principle in physics known as conservation of energy (aka the 1st Law of Thermodynamics). It says you can't get out more energy than you put in. No experiment in history has ever given a different result. There's no reason, therefore, to expect your scheme to work. Try it -- if you must -- but don't get your hopes up!

Because the maximum power output is determined by the prime mover itself. (not taking into consideration the physical limits of the generator itself, which will burn up with an excessive load). So, if you had a 750 HP diesel connected to a 2000 KW generator, the maximum output you would be able to extract from the generator will be determined by the maximum output of the diesel. 750 HP is approximately equal to 562.5 KW. Therefore the absolute maximum you can get out of the generator will be 562.5 KW, even though the generator is capable of producing up to 2000 KW, because any load greater than that will bog down the diesel (i.e.-it's not strong enough to drive a greater load.)
