  • I think I would be comfortable with around 16 or 17.
  • Coffee is a stimulant and is addictive. In an ideal world nobody would drink it, BUT we all need that "kick" once in a while. So I guess I'd say that I wouldn't encourage it at all. Once they are mature enough to find their own employment, I would say they are probably mature enough to handle coffee if they really want it. They may even need it to help with driving after work. I'd make sure that they know that once they REALLY start drinking coffee regularly, they should know that caffeine withdrawal can be a consequence. Teens usually disregard consequences anyway, but I'd make sure that at least they knew about it so they weren't surprised by the headaches and irritability that they might encounter if they neglected to stop by Starbucks on the way to school.
  • My son is tweelve and I will let him have a first drink of my iced cap from Tim Hortons. But thats it.He never asks for more.He treats it like alchole, the odd sip from a parent once a year or so is OK LOL.
  • I started drinking coffee when I was 8. I would not reccomend tha, because now I am seriously addicted.
  • yer, ofcourse.
  • I would say thirteen or so.
  • Coffee can become addicting very easily...I would suggest maybe tea until the age of sixteen or so
  • I don't see anything wrong with a little sip of coffee at any age within reason. When I was born, it was common to give about one spoonful in s baby bottle to help babies to sleep, believe it or not. I was never addicted to it and to this day it does give me a sleepy quality. I used to dip my toast in my grandpa's cup of coffee as a treat and I loved it. Like all things, just be reasonable, use commonsense, know your kids and don't overdo anything.
  • What teen is tagged to their age.
  • Okay, many here seem to put coffee in the same category as alcohol or tobacco. Of those who have this opinion, how many TOTALLY FORBID those under your arbitrary age of consent to drink soda? I think bacon contains Crack because it's addictive; ban bacon too. Thinking makes my head hurt more than caffeine withdrawal so ban thinking as well. Come on. Get real. Personally, I started drinking coffee at age 7. I usually only have one cup a day, though it's a large travel cup so I guess it counts as two. And it didn't stunt my growth either.
  • well I'm 18 and my would let me drink coffee when I was 4! but never liked it... I drink it sometimes... If I had to put an age on it...ten is a good time I think. :3
