It depends on who I'm with. If I'm around someone that I know well, then I'm really outgoing. But if I'm told to go and talk to someone I don't know, I'm pretty shy.

It depends on the situation. At times, I'm probably too outgoing for my own good, I'll talk to anyone anywhere. I wouldn't describe myself as shy at all, not much phases me, but in a lot of situations I am quiet. I like to observe other people around me, and see how they act and behave. Maybe that sounds weird...

I'm usually shy when it comes to meeting new people socially. At work, where I come across new people all the time, I have no problem being outgoing, as I'm pretty confident about what I do. Also, around friends I'm usually the life of the party, even if meeting new people is involved. Hmmm.... Looking at it like this, I think I am still a little unsure of myself. I'm somewhere in between. Outgoingness ( is there such a word?) tends to bring out the stupidity in me, so in times of quiet reflection, I replay all my outgoing moments and realize how idiotic I was, which makes me feel acute embarrassment! The embarrassment then causes me become more introverted for a while, and so on and so forth as the cycle repeats itself.

A mix of both now. When I was a child I was incredibly shy and introverted. Through highschool and college, I got over it.. mostly. I guess I am only outgoing when I am with my good friends. Only with those I have known for a long time and am comfortable with.

Basically I am shy, and happiest with my own company. However over the years I have taken on quite a bit of responsibility within our community and have perfected the art of appearing to be confident and outgoing when it is required. Maybe I would have made a good actress - very few people are aware that I am practically antisocial or suffer depression.

I am an educated introvert..I know how to get along in large crowds and meet new people and be very social but in real time I am very shy and hate to be in large crowds and meet new people. I always seem outgoing to people who meet me and can be the life of the party but it's not truly how I am.

Very introverted, but I've taught myself to function "appropriately" in social situations. As a result, most people don't realize how introverted I am. But after having been "on" for a few hours (even with close friends where I'm having fun) I need time by myself to do nothing and just decompress because I'm exhausted.

hmm it's a toughie depends on the person. actually...if i am entirely fascinated with someone (not just for love but simply fascinated) i will be shy. which sucks because it's nice to get to know a fascinating person. i think i'm fairly outgoing alot of the time though
